‘The Swan’ by Cheatahs

Touting former members of both Male Bonding and Weird Dreams, Cheatahs are by no means strangers to indie rock, and their first release for new homestead Wichita Recordings sees them imbue the fuzzballed energy of the genre with such warmth and generosity that it feels like a homecoming. When the second act fades out on a tremendously fulfilling high, only to pick back up again to bathe in the electrified afterglow, it’s as if they’re running victory laps around the studio.
