‘Goddess Eyes I’ by Julia Holter
Julia’s statuesque, yet ghostly sylph of a figure wanders through a surrealist landscape that seems ripped straight from a Giorgio de Chirico painting, which can’t be a coincidence considering the final images of an expressionless Julia, overlooking tragedy with a blank detachment, also draws similar parallels to Chirico’s fascination with faceless, mannequin-like figures. What say you, director Jose Wolff?
