‘Better’ by TEEN
The Brooklyn pop group comprised of three sisters and a longtime friend originally introduced this anthemic synth build over a year ago, but now it returns remastered and revitalised as both the lead single and opening track to their first full-length, In Limbo. A stirring prelude of unassuming force, incorporating deep-resounding organs and marching percussion, Better leads on the front foot with a conquering spirit, it’s confidence backed by lyrics filled with rabble-rousing bravado; “Singing in a choir four little voices spitting nonsense / Just to see what it’ll do to the common few” they sing in the first stanza, outlining their first line of attack, eventually ending on an uplifting battle cry sung by all the band in unison: “I’ll do it better than anybody else”.
