‘Eleventh Hour’ by PINS
The thundering, tom-tom heavy procession of Eleventh Hour marks the dramatic arrival of new Manchester four-piece PINS, whose monochromatic moods, slow-build dynamic and sparse instrumentation owes much to post-punk glower of bands like Jesus and Mary Chain and, more obviously, fellow Mancunian folk heroes Joy Division.
The song’s stark beauty is equally matched by Sing J. Lee’s elegantly shot black and white video, which slowly gains splashes of colour and definition until we’re left with a fully developed group picture; the last frame a portrait of a significant force emerging from the shadows. You’re going to want to get a Limited Edition Gold Tape.
