On Roman Polanski: →
As long as Pedro Almodovar, Wes Anderson, Darren Aronofsky, Monica Bellucci, Alfonso Cuaron, Jonathan Demme, Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu, Wong Kar Wai, Alexander Payne, Jeanne Moreau, Julian Schnabel, and Tilda Swinton continue to show their support for fugitive child rapist Roman Polanski, I will continue to not show my support for their own work.
I am not biased because I am a survivor. I am “biased” because I don’t understand how anyone can support a fugitive child rapist.
re: All this. It’s a bit more complicated than that. Please watch Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired (2008). They aren’t protesting that he didn’t do it, they’re protesting he shouldn’t be extradited to continue his trial in the U.S. because the original trial this all was based off was corrupt, and since then the victim has won a separate lawsuit against Polanski and requested the charges of this trial to be dropped and the case forgotten. So basically it’s just unfinished law from a dead case that a few lawyers are trying to resurrect for god knows what reason.
Edit: That Jezebel article is terrible. Less focus on rage, more on details, people.
