‘Madam Butterfly (Young Edits Re-Dub)’ by Malcolm McLaren

Lest we forget the genius of this Malcom McLaren penned 1984 single, which somehow managed to successfully blend drum sequencers with spoken word, opera, r’n’b, new wave, and even a little harmonica, to create one searingly unique package. This edit removes a few of the original’s more out-there elements, but the fact that the streamlined product still sounds so different is a testament to McLaren and his exceptional vision.
