The first official trailer to Panos Cosmatos’ Beyond the Black Rainbow, a ’70s inspired throwback to the stylised ‘classic sci-fi’ of THX 1138, 2001, Silent Running et al. I’ve been eagerly awaiting this since I first saw the insane teaser 2 years ago, and it looks like it’s finally getting a release. Pastiche or not, the trailer in of itself looks and sounds stunning — lots of vintage chromatic palettes, Kubrickian compositions and ominous synths.
